This is an amazing optic for the price. This unit is perfect for hog hunting and predator hunting. Some predator hunters are partial to having a scope with a higher base magnification. The optical zoom definitely helps in these cases, allowing the use to zoom without the distortion seen when utilizing your traditional digital zoom!
